Summer Leage Draft

Summer League Signups are officially over! Please do not sign up on the late signup link past this point - it will simply be a difficult process of trying to get you your money back, since the draft lists have already been sent to captains. :-D

TONIGHT is the Summer League Draft.

Players my show up at Zydeco AFTER 9:00 PM. Please do not show up before 9:00 PM. You will most likely be sent away.

Come to Zydeco After 9:00 PM tonight to find out which team you're on and meet your captains and teammates!

If you forgot to sign up for summer league, this is your last chance.

Email Cory Casella at Ccasella3@gmail.com if you need to sign up late, and he will respond with a link where you can sign up late. You will need to sign up BY FRIDAY if you want to play. That means contacting Cory by Friday morning at the latest. If you miss this one...there's always church softball or bingo or kickball or shuffleboard or something. But not BUDA ultimate.

Summer League 2008

Are you so excited about Summer League that your pants are on fire? Well prepare to be quenched. Summer League 2008 is here!!

To sign up for summer league, just go to:

The dates are as follows:

Signups – May 6-17
Wk one – May 29
Wk ten – July 31
EOS – Aug 2

It costs $60 to play, $50 if you a student or if this is your first time to BUDA, and $35 if you are in High School. If you want to play, you have to pay, so be sure to complete the entire signup process before finishing out.

We'll post more information about the league in the coming week.

Brian Yamane

Brian Yamane was a regular open-player, winter-leaguer, and summer-leaguer. His fun-loving attitude and sense of humor added so much to the BUDA community. Brian passed away last week, and he will be missed dearly by all who shared the field with him.

Jay Pigford: Brian was the guy who, on the pull, would run down the field yelling
"FIRE!!" much like William Wallace would have if he had played ultimate. It
definitely brought a smile to my face everytime, no matter how bad we were
getting beaten.....great guy who'll be missed.

Steve Millburg: Brian played summer and winter league the past year or
two. Most recently, he was on Karen Balliet and Will
Marble's purple team this past winter league. He was
a fun, energetic guy. I remember him yelling all the
way down the field on each pull.

Open Play can be found every Sunday afternoon at Shades Cahaba Elementary School at approximately 2:00 P.M.
Any and all players are welcome - please come out and meet some of the BUDA community if you are interested in playing Summer League this year! All skill levels are welcome!

Directions to Comer Field

From 65 North, take the University Blvd Exit. Right at end of ramp. You will be heading east on University Blvd (8th Ave. South); go past UAB, then St. Vincent's Hospital. It will become Clairmont Road (2-3 niles). You will pass Highlands Golf Course on your right. Continue on Clairmont for 1.7 miles past the golf course; take a left on 50th Place, then an immediate left on 50th Street. Comer School is a half mile ahead on your left. Field is behind the school.

From 65 South, take 20/59 North, take Hwy 31/Carraway Blvd Exit (just after I-65). Stay on 31 to 8th Ave. South Exit. Left at end of ramp onto 8th Ave/Univ Blvd. Follow approximately one mile until you see Highlands Golf Course on your right. 8th Avenue turns into Clairmont Road.
